This is the perfect step for group fitness instructors who want to become a personal trainer and/or Pilates instructor.
This is the class that will give you the basic knowledge of anatomy and movement needed for a full understanding of TPC training systems educations. This class is for individuals who would like to become a Personal Trainer, Pilates instructor, or group fitness instructor. The class will include biomechanics, anatomy, basics of movement, terminology, and everything that is needed to successfully complete mat1 and reformer 1 certifications.
Foundations - 1 day
This comprehensive 1 day course is a prerequisite for all new trainers attending TPC educations. This program is designed to provide the essential tools to begin to gain a deeper understanding of movement in general and specifically the TPC method of training. This is a great class for those teaching any type of movement to the general population. Instruction includes:
- Analyzing how posture effects movement and vice versa
- Effectively training clients of differing body types
- Modifying exercises in a multi-level class by analyzing a student’s movement patterns
- The pre-pilates exercises, which are essential prior to moving on to more advanced exercises
- The basic bio-mechanics of functional movements
- The importance of neutral spine and why it is the only safe and effective position for the spine when performing movement
Advanced Postural Analysis – 1 day
This workshop is a more in-depth analysis of the postural problems linked to body type and necessary alignment modifications in classes. Every body moves differently and yet this is not addressed in typical classes. This course will address:
- Why certain traditional Pilates exercises are contraindicated and can actually cause, or exacerbate, neck and back problems
- How to recognize postural deviations
- How to teach corrective exercises that will address muscular imbalances, as well as, how to provide visual and tactile feedback for your students
This is a hands-on class that provides one with the tools to teach a safer and more effective class for the general fitness population.
